A charming vintage David Winter Cottages “Fred’s Home” Christmas ornament, produced by John Hine Studios and based on the original designs of celebrated English cottage artist David Winter.
Inspired by the wonderfully detailed architecture associated with David Winter’s collectible cottages, Fred’s Home features a snow-covered English-style house rendered in miniature with the storybook character that makes these pieces so appealing for Christmas displays and cottage collections.
The original underside label remains attached and identifies the piece as Fred’s Home, by John Hine Studios, based on original designs by David Winter, and made in China.
Fred’s Home is a recognized design within the David Winter Christmas collections, and miniature Christmas ornament versions were also produced. Collector references date the Christmas ornament version to 1992, while the larger Fred’s Home cottage was released separately.
A lovely collectible for a David Winter enthusiast or a charming addition to a traditional Christmas tree, Dickens-inspired holiday display or miniature English village.
