An intricate 1993 David Winter collectible cottage, Old Joe’s Beetling Shop, created for the Christmas Collection. This wonderfully crooked, snow-covered building is filled with the architectural details collectors look for in David Winter pieces: timber framing, aged brickwork, tiny lattice windows, green doors, stone paths, textured snow and a dramatic tall chimney.
The underside label identifies the piece as “Old Joe’s Beetling Shop,” © 1993 David Winter™, and states that it was hand made and hand painted in the Studios of John Hine Limited, Great Britain. The original base label also retains the John Hine Limited hologram and barcode 3051091901.
Released and retired in 1993, this was a one-year Christmas Collection issue. Period collector references list the original issue price at $175. It makes a beautiful addition to a David Winter collection, Dickens-inspired Christmas display, English village collection or traditional holiday vignette.
