David Winter Fred’s Home 1991 Christmas Cottage | Special for Christmas | Dickens Scrooge Collectible | John Hine England

Vintage David Winter “Fred’s Home,” created as a Special for Christmas 1991. This substantial hand-painted English cottage depicts the snowy home of Fred, Ebenezer Scrooge’s cheerful nephew from Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. The highly detailed architectural design features steep snow-covered Tudor roofs, half-timbered walls, stonework, multiple brick chimneys, warm window details, greenery, an arched passageway and a sculpted winter base.

The underside retains its green felt and original identification label reading “Special for Christmas 1991 – Fred’s Home,” with the Christmas greeting attributed to Scrooge’s nephew Fred. The label identifies David Winter and states that the piece was handmade and hand painted in the Studios & Workshops of John Hine Limited, Hampshire, Great Britain. The exterior base is also marked “For Christmas 1991.”

A beautiful display piece for David Winter collectors, Dickens and A Christmas Carol enthusiasts, English cottage collectors, or a traditional Christmas village display.
